Adams & Martin Group is working with a well established civil litigation firm to identify a Litigation Legal Assistant for its downtown San Jose office. This full time, onsite role supports a high volume civil litigation practice and is well suited for a detail oriented professional with solid state and federal litigation experience and strong organizational skills.
Responsibilities:
Attorney & Litigation Support
Provide day to day administrative and litigation support to attorneys handling civil litigation matters
Support all phases of litigation with a strong understanding of state and federal court procedures
Serve as a reliable point of contact for attorneys, assisting with workflow management and case progression
Document Preparation & Filing
Prepare, format, revise, and finalize pleadings, correspondence, discovery, and other legal documents
Proofread documents for accuracy and compliance with court rules
File and serve documents in California state and federal courts, including e filing
Case & File Management
Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files
Assist with opening, maintaining, and closing matters in accordance with firm procedures
Support document management and e discovery processes as needed
Scheduling & Calendar Management
Manage complex litigation calendars, including court deadlines, hearings, depositions, and meetings
Ensure all critical dates are accurately calendared and communicated
Client, Court & Internal Communication
Communicate professionally with clients, court personnel, opposing counsel, and vendors
Demonstrate strong written and verbal communication in all interactions
Special Projects & Administrative Support
Assist attorneys with case related projects, document comparisons, and proofreading
Provide general administrative support as needed to support litigation workflows
Qualifications
4 to 5 years of civil litigation legal assistant experience required
Strong working knowledge of state and federal litigation procedures
Excellent calendaring and deadline management skills
Strong communication, organization, and time management abilities
Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with legal case management and document systems is a plus
Ability to work onsite full time in a collaborative, professional office environment

Onsite role located in downtown San Jose
Schedule: 8:30 AM to 5:30 PM
